
June 24, 2020 - The Hawaii Legislature announced a proposal that lays out a plan to spend the $635 million from the CARES Act to help with unemployment insurance, rental assistance and support for small businesses. The plan calls for $5 million in food assistance but is not close to the $40 million that is estimated to be need by the Working Families Coalition. The $40 million would cover food support for all families in need and for farmers to meet their needs locally as well. Read the full article here.
